St. Jerome Publishing is a small independent press that operates partly on a mail order basis and partly through booksellers and subscription agents. It is committed to promoting high quality research and publication in all areas of translation studies and cross-cultural communication. While operating on a commercial basis to ensure long term survival, the first and foremost concern of this publishing house is to support the development of translation studies and other disciplines focusing on cross-cultural communication and to help create an environment in which the work of promising young scholars can reach the research community, unhampered by bureaucracy or academic politics. |
