Translegis Publishing, founded in 1990 under the auspices of the Polish Society of Sworn and Specialized Translators ‘TEPIS’, is editing books designed for court interpreters and specialist translators. There are handbooks on translation such as ‘The Sworn Translator’s Code’, ‘Introduction to Translation Theory’ and ‘Legal Translation’ (in Polish), ‘L'interprétation communautaire’ and ‘The Grammatical Structure of Legal English’, as well as collections of original legal and official texts such as ‘The New Selection of English Documents’ and similar selections in German, French, Russian, Italian and Polish. Monographic papers on methodology of legal and specialized translation have been published (since 1994) in 21 issues of ‘Lingua Legis’ – a journal issued under the TEPIS auspices. Since 1996 “The Polish Law Collection” has been published as a loose-leaf edition of Polish legal instruments translated into English, also available in electronic form at www.polishlaw.com.pl. |
