December 2011 Publisher Bulletin

Dear LINGUIST publishers,

    As 2011 comes to a close, we want to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support of the LINGUIST List! This year has been another successful one, and we are most pleased with the new features we have implemented for our supporting publishers. We have redesigned our invoice system in order to provide electronic invoices, a streamlined payment system, and a convenient way to view all of your prior invoices in the Publisher Services area of the site. We hope that you will find these new features helpful, and look foward to introducing even more new features in 2012.

    As we look toward the New Year, we hope to see many of you at the annual conference of the Linguistic Society of America in January. The LINGUIST List publications team will be hosting a Publishers Forum on Friday, January 6, from 10:30-11:30am in the Cabinet room. We are eager to meet you, explain some of the new developments at LINGUIST, and get your feedback. Your comments and suggestions are invaluable to us, so we hope to see you there and hear your thoughts at the Forum. From January 2011-December 2011 the following unique pageviews were recorded: Its subscriber base has grown to over 27,000 linguists in over 140 countries

Advertise With The LINGUIST List:


  • Beginning in 2012, the LINGUIST List will offer statistics on click-through rates for your advertisements! Displaying advertisements on the LINGUIST List homepage and Publications pages is a great way to offer increased visibility to your announcements or services. We are pleased that our supporting publishers choose to advertise on LINGUIST, and want to be sure that we are offering you the best value. We will be discussing our advertising features in detail at our LSA Publications Forum, so please stop by with any questions or comments you may have.     • Automatic Feeds:


  • We are still offering our automatic feed packages, as advertised previously in our publisher bulletins. These feeds are in place to offer a reliable and efficient alternative to manually entering each of your book and Journal Table of Content (TOC) announcements. These options are: a book feed, a TOC feed, and a journal article feed. For publishers who opt for an automatic feed, we can also offer a link from our book announcement to the book information on your site, a 'Buy this book' link to your shopping cart, a thumbnail image of the book's cover, and information on book chapters. Please contact us at pubs Linguist List linguistlist.org for fee and set up information!


    • Announcements:


  • The LINGUIST List will be closed between December 21nd, 2011 - January 3rd 2012, so please submit any book or TOC information before then in order to guarantee that it will be posted to our subscribers. We are happy to receive publication submissions after that date; however, these publications will be announced to our subscribers when we return in January.


  • The Publishers Forum will be held at the annual Linguistic Society of America meeting in January. The Forum will be held on January 6th 2012 from 10:30-11:30am in the Cabinet room. Please stop by to hear a short presentation and ask us questions. Refreshments will be provided!


  • We recently sent out our annual invoices to Supporting Publishers. If you did not receive an invoice, or have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us. If we do not receive your payment before January 15th, 2012, access to your Publisher Services will suspended. You may renew access later in 2012, but we encourage you to submit payment before the end of the year in order to prevent an interruption in your posting privileges.
