How to become a LINGUIST List reviewer

LINGUIST List only accepts reviews that have been solicited through the reviews system. Unsolicited reviews will not be accepted.

Normally, reviewers must have at least an MA or equivalent in linguistics or another relevant field in order to sign up to do a review.

Between the 1st and the 20th of each month:

Step 1: Log in to your LINGUIST user account. (If you do not have one already, you will be able to create one.)

Step 2: Ensure that your personal information is complete and up-to-date.

Step 3: Select and rank the book(s) (maximum 3) you would like to review from the month's AVAILABLE FOR REVIEW list.

Step 4: Confirm book selection.

Step 5: Receive email with the list of books that you submitted. You can log in again to make modifications to your selection between the 1st and the 20th of the month. On the 21st of each month, the list of books will no longer be available to make requests because the reviews team will be choosing reviewers.

By the end of the month:

Step 6: You will be notified by email if you have been selected as a reviewer for a book.

Step 7: Soon thereafter the publisher will send you the book.

Step 8: Be sure to read and follow the Guidelines for Review Content and Format before beginning your review.
