From Utterances to Speech Acts

By Mikhail Kissine

"Kissine offers a new theory of speech acts which is philosophically sophisticated and builds on work in cognitive science, formal semantics, and linguistic typology. This highly readable, brilliant essay is a major contribution to the field."

--François Recanati, Institut Jean-Nicod

English Roots within English Words

I am looking for books showing English Word Roots within EnglishWords. Not Latin nor Greek roots. Books specifically limited to roots and their corresponding family of words containing them are most pertinent; rather than discussions of roots and incidental references.

Thanks,
Jack Williams
