Discourse Analysis

Query:   I'll be teaching a directed-readings module on political discourse this
semester. The students would like to dedicate a session to the issue of
emotional appeals in politicians' speeches. Would anyone be able to
recommend 2-3 texts on or relevant to that topic (articles and/or book
chapters, but not whole books) that would be appropriate for an MA-student
without prior exposure to discourse analysis? Thanks very much in advance!
I'll post a summary of replies to the list.
