From Utterances to Speech Acts

By Mikhail Kissine

"Kissine offers a new theory of speech acts which is philosophically sophisticated and builds on work in cognitive science, formal semantics, and linguistic typology. This highly readable, brilliant essay is a major contribution to the field."

--François Recanati, Institut Jean-Nicod

Query:   SUBJECT: Participants needed for research study into the relationship of
language and cognition in five languages

I am currently conducting a research study based on a series of experiments
designed to gauge native speakers' reactions. I am looking for as many
willing participants as possible. If you are a NATIVE speaker of either
Hebrew, Hungarian, German, Spanish or English, you immediately qualify to
partake in the study.

The respective questionnaires can be accessed by clicking on the links
below (or copying and pasting the URL into your browser). The
questionnaires take about 15 minutes to complete, are completely anonymous
and all instructions and questions are in the target language (therefore
only knowledge of your native language is required). There are no right or
wrong answers, but please read the instructions carefully.

Please pass the appropriate links on to anyone who you think may be
interested in participating.

Thank you in advance!
