From Utterances to Speech Acts

By Mikhail Kissine

"Kissine offers a new theory of speech acts which is philosophically sophisticated and builds on work in cognitive science, formal semantics, and linguistic typology. This highly readable, brilliant essay is a major contribution to the field."

--François Recanati, Institut Jean-Nicod

Summary:   Dear list subscribers,
Regarding my message to the Linguist-list asking for
references on the Mayan Languages. I am very thankful to the following
people, who sent me very useful reference lists:
Stuart Robinson, Marc Picard, Otto Carsten, Jack Terry Wiedrick,
Nike Ola Orie and Gretchen Crowe.
Since the lists I received include hundreds of references and
it would be strange to summarize such lists, instead of posting a
summary to the Linguist-list I offer to forward the information I received
to those individuals interested in it.
Sincerely,
Rosa Garcia (rjgc@xanum.uam.mx)
