From Utterances to Speech Acts

By Mikhail Kissine

"Kissine offers a new theory of speech acts which is philosophically sophisticated and builds on work in cognitive science, formal semantics, and linguistic typology. This highly readable, brilliant essay is a major contribution to the field."

--François Recanati, Institut Jean-Nicod

This is an update to a request for information on online linguistics
materials that I posted a month ago. I am from the University of New
Orleans and needed online teaching resources quickly. There were several
great suggestions (listed below) and also some incredibly generous offers
of assistance in designing courses. Thank you to all those linguists whose
generosity helped make a difficult time so much easier.
