| Description: | Linguistlist is a public good, so ought to receive state funding, and ought not to rely on contributions from linguists' salaries, whose purpose is to pay for linguists' labour, not to pay for public goods like libraries or Linguistlist.
Ideally, therefore, the running of Linguistlist would be handed over to whoever is able to raise state funding for it. As a fallback solution, Linguislist could be split into (1) free low-maintenance email lists, and (2) a high-mainenance website available by subscription to University libraries. --And Rosta. |
