Winnebago (Hocank, Ho-Chunk)

• Johannes Helmbrecht has been working on the grammar of Winnebago (a Siouan language of Wisconsin) in cooperation with the Hocank Wazijaci Language Program in Mauston, WI. His long-ranging plans are to write a grammar of Winnebago which contributes to the efforts made by the Tribe to preserve their language and culture. He would be happy to respond to general or specific questions for information on Winnebago.
