Support Description: 3-year PhD position available in Computational Linguistics at the Department of
Linguistics, University of Colorado, Boulder.

Start date: June or September, 2009

The ideal candidate will have a Master's (or equivalent) degree in Computer
Science or Linguistics with native speaker fluency in Hindi/Urdu. Experience in
corpus linguistics desirable. The position entails working on creating a Hindi
Proposition Bank by tagging predicate-argument structures in a Hindi TreeBank
with sense tags and argument labels based on lexicon entries with
predicate-argument structure information (for publications relating to Propbank,
see: http://verbs.colorado.edu/~mpalmer/publications.html). More information
