Linguistics is an undergraduate interdisciplinary program with links to the social sciences, education, and the humanities. The major provides students with work in the formal structure, the social contexts, and the history of languages.
The linguistics major and minor emphasize interdisciplinary study and analytic skills. Graduates are qualified for many careers and are working in: literacy programs, speech therapy, advertising, machine translation, missionary work, lexicography, and computer programming.
