| Program Description: | The Master of Arts degree in Applied Linguistics is designed for students who wish to pursue advanced work in Spanish linguistics and further develop their fluency in the Spanish language. In response to the growing importance of Spanish in the United States, this program provides a broad sense in the structure, usage and development of modern Spanish. Thus, the degree is designed to suit the needs of future teachers and teachers already in services, as well as students with career goals other than teaching. With its strong foundation in linguistics, the M.A. in Applied Spanish Linguistics also serves as preparation for doctoral level work in theoretical or applied linguistics or language acquisition. |
