| Program Description: | The Department of Applied Linguistics and English as a Second Language at Georgia State University, one of the few departments of its kind in the United States, offers a PhD in applied linguistics to prepare students to conduct research on adult language learning and teaching and to function as graduate-level educators in programs training language education professionals. |
| Available Financial Aid: | Full-time students may receive some financial support in the form of Graduate Teaching Assistantships (GTAs), Graduate Laboratory Assistants (GLAs), or Graduate Research Assistantships (GRAs). Financial support includes tuition waivers and stipends. Graduate teaching assignments may include undergraduate courses, master’s degree courses, and ESL courses. Some non-teaching fellowships are also available. |
