Program Description:	The programme aims to provide suitably qualified graduates an opportunity to develop a deep understanding of the field of Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (hereafter TESOL) at both the theoretical and practical level. The programme is also intended for language teachers, teacher trainers and materials writers who want to develop and extend the range of professional skills and knowledge that they will need for a career in the field of English language teaching. Core modules: • Linguistics for Language Teachers • Methods in English Language Teaching • Principles of Course and Material Design • Second Language Acquisition • Language Testing and Assessment • Research Methods • Classroom Observation and Teaching Techniques • Dissertation Entrance requirements: Normally a good first degree in English. Applicants with a first degree in other subjects will be considered on individual basis.
