Program Description: Gonzaga's PCMI program is a joint degree with Peace Corps in which students receive a foundation in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) and Studies in Language & Culture and then complete the degree by doing a three-credit (tuition waived) practicum with Peace Corps while earning an additional seven credits (non-waived) based on their service as a Peace Corps volunteer.The program is designed to provide participants with the skills needed to participate in Peace Corps TEFL and TEFL teacher training programs.

Length of Program:
Four semesters (including summer I and II) plus 27 months of Peace Corps service. Students may be full-time or part-time and may begin the program at the beginning of the fall, spring or summer semesters.

Program Requirements:
36 credits. Competence in a language other than English is required for native English speaking students. A portfolio based on work and research completed during the program is required.
Available Financial Aid: Some financial aid, including merit-based awards such as graduate assistantships, is available. Three of the 10 Peace Corps credits are tuition-waived.
