| Program Description: | An interdisciplinary program in linguistics with core linguistics courses (Introduction, Sociolinguistics, Phonetics, Phonology, Syntax I and II, Semantics and two senior seminars (recent offerings likely to be repeated include Contact Linguistics, Chinese Linguistics, Germanic Linguistics, Historical Linguistics, History of Linguistic Theories, Romance Linguistics) and concentrations in one of eight areas: Anthropology, Communication Sciences and Disorders, Computer Sciences, English, Modern and Classical Languages, Philosophy, Psychology and TESOL. Most frequent concentrations chosen are Modern Languages and TESOL. Currently over 80 majors enrolled. Some Modern Language study is required as part of the major as is a senior presentation. |
