Program Description:	The Department of English Instruction, formerly Foreign Language Center, was founded in 2000 with the commitment to strengthening the quality of English education in Taiwan. Our Department has three broad goals: first to prepare prospective English teachers to assume leadership roles in elementary EFL education; second, to provide students with integrated knowledge of being a generalist with competence to teach all subjects in elementary school and being a specialist in TESL/TEFL; and third, to embody a concept of excellence combining scholarship, professionalism, practice in classroom settings, and service to the community in the field of English education.
