| Program Description: | Faculty research and graduate studies in Linguistics at UC Irvine focus on theoretical approaches to language as a 'mirror of the mind': its nature, how it is acquired, and how it is used. Students receive training in the core areas of theoretical linguistics, phonology, syntax,and semantics, and the issues of interface between these modules of grammar. |
