Program Description:

Carleton University's Ph.D. programme in Cognitive Science is the only free-standing, fully integrated doctoral programme in Cognitive Science in Canada. Over 30 faculty from Carleton, the University of Ottawa, the National Research Council, and Concordia University (Monreal) are members of the core faculty. Fourteen faculty have joint appointments, bridging cognitive science and computer science, psychology, linguistics, philosophy, and neuroscience. There are between 20 and 25 students in the programme at any one time. It is possible to enter the programme with a Bachelor's degree as well as with a Master's degree. The programme involves many innovative features, including 'methodology rotations' in which students spend a term in three different cognitive laboratories using distinct methods. All students have wired office space and the Institute has extensive computing facilities. Students with training in any of the core disciplines or a related discipline or disciplines are invited to apply. Deadline: March 1st but we will continue to consider applications until the available places are all filled.

Available Financial Aid:

All students are funded.
