"Buenos dias", "buenas noches" -- this was the first words in a foreign language I heard in my life, as a three-year old boy growing up in developing post-war Western Germany, where the first gastarbeiters had arrived from Spain. Fascinated by the strange sounds, I tried to get to know some more languages, the only opportunity being TV courses of English and French -- there was no foreign language education for pre-teen school children in Germany yet in those days. Meeting Description: Les Décembrettes, an international conference on morphology, takes place every two years at the end of the first week of December. Organized since 2002 by the research group CLLE-ERSS (CNRS & Université de Toulouse), it brings together students and researchers in morphology from around the world. Open to all topics involving the morphology of the languages of the world and to all theoretical approaches, Les Décembrettes provide a high level scientific forum to present results and discuss data and analysis in a collegial atmosphere. The talks and posters presented at the conference undergo a rigorous and fully transparent selection process.

The 8th Décembrettes will be held in Bordeaux on December 6-7, 2012. In addition to two invited talks, the conference will include selected talks and posters.
