"Buenos dias", "buenas noches" -- this was the first words in a foreign language I heard in my life, as a three-year old boy growing up in developing post-war Western Germany, where the first gastarbeiters had arrived from Spain. Fascinated by the strange sounds, I tried to get to know some more languages, the only opportunity being TV courses of English and French -- there was no foreign language education for pre-teen school children in Germany yet in those days. Meeting Description: The Arab Computing Society (ACS) International Conference on Computer Systems and Applications (AICCSA) is the premier Computer Science and Engineering Conference in the Middle East and North Africa. It is held every other year in an Arab country and intends to enhance the participation and the contribution of the Arab world in Information Technologies and to maximize its benefits. In general, the scope of AICCSA includes all aspects of the theory and practice of computer science and information technology, but, depending on the needs, specific topics and/or issues might be prioritized.

AICCSA2013 will be held in the historical city of Fes, Morocco, on May 27-30, 2013. It includes a track of computational language processing for a subset of regional languages.
