Very x2 Delicious Soy Sauce Eggplant

I saw your call out on the Linguist List and would like to make a contribution. As for the title, "Very x2 delicious..." I would like to explain. I am a high school teacher at an all girls high school in Japan and the latest rage for the past couple years is to write "very x2". I find it rather curious because I haven't seen it done in the Japanese language. And to our students, everything is delicious!! Anyway, I think it's cute and that's what we dubbed it. :-> And it is delicious! Please try it yourself.

4 eggplants: steamed, cut into sticks

4 tbsp soy sauce (dark)
2 tbsp vinegar (rice vinegar - not sweetened)
2 tsp sugar
2 tsp sesame oil
1 tsp salt
1/2-1 tsp red chili pepper oil (raiyu)
1 clove grated garlic

Cooking Instructions

Put the steamed eggplant sticks in this marinade and put in the fridge.
Serve cold. Keeps about 10 days. Very x2 delicious!!!
