This recipe comes from the "Edmonds Cookery Book", a staple in NZ kitchens. The recipe is said to come from WWII.


100 g butter
1 tbsp golden syrup
1/2 cup sugar
3/4 cup coconut
3/4 cup rolled oats
3/4 cup plain baking flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tbsp hot water

Cooking Instructions

Melt butter and syrup together in a large saucepan. Mix sugar, coconut, rolled oats and flour together. Stir into saucepan. Dissolve soda in water and mix in. Place rounded on oven tray. Bake at 180°C for 15 minutes.
