1999/10/31 Dear all, When reading newspapers articles on cyberspace or about Internet, I have frequently come across such new words as espeak, cyberspeak, netspeak. Now I have a growing interest in the features of Internet word formation . My questions are listed as follows: Q1. Is there a new branch of linguistics named netlinguistics or cyberlinguistics? If so, then who first named it? Q2. How would linguistics comment on the features of Internet word formation? Thanks in advance. Jing Ma
