We'd like to remind readers that the responses to queries are usually
best posted to the individual asking the question. That individual is
then strongly encouraged to post a summary to the list. This policy was
instituted to help control the huge volume of mail on LINGUIST; so we
would appreciate your cooperating with it whenever it seems appropriate.

I'd be very grateful if you could post the following query on Linguist
List. Thanks, Robert McColl Millar
In his seminal article "'Abstand' languages and 'Ausbau' languages",
_Anthropological Linguistics_ 9:7 of 1967, Heinz Kloss put forward the
concepts of _Abstand_ (distinct language by inherent distance) and
_Ausbau_ (distinct language by development). I would be very grateful if
anyone could let me know of references to further developments in these
concepts in later work. I will post a summary on this list.

Dear Linguists,
Would anyone have current contact information for Lisa Garbern Liu? I
am trying to reach her in regards to research she conducted in 1985 with
respect to Bloom and Au:
Liu, Lisa Garbern (1985). Reasoning counterfactually in Chinese: Are
there any obstacles? Cognition, 21, 239-270.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Sincerely,
Kevin Johnson
