We'd like to remind readers that the responses to queries are usually
best posted to the individual asking the question. That individual is
then strongly encouraged to post a summary to the list. This policy was
instituted to help control the huge volume of mail on LINGUIST; so we
would appreciate your cooperating with it whenever it seems appropriate.

Dear colleagues,
Is there going to be a TESOL Summer Institute this year? Where can I find out the
details?
Thank you,

Subject: Electronic corpus of English dictionnaries
Hello,
A colleague of mine, Sabine Ploux from Institut des Sciences
Cognitives, has devised an electronic sofware which calculate
synonymous words (an electronic dictionnary of synonyms). It has been
established through a French corpus of french dictionaries. She would
like to do the same thing for English with a goal to automatic
translation uses but she would like to know if any electronic corpus
of English dictionaries (though not English-French) exists, where it
could be available and whether it could free, or, at least,
cheap. Would anyone know of such a corpus?
Best
Anne Reboul
