Subject: Self-repair quote

Dear Fellow Linguists,

I am a currently finishing my disseration on self-repair strategies in
English and German conversations and need your help in locating a quote
regarding (self-)repair.

Several months ago I read that (self-)repairs tend to occur in clusters.
Unfortunately, I can neither find the author nor the source or the exact
quote. However, I absolutely need to include this information into my
thesis and therefore I would greatly appreciate your help regarding author
and source of this particular quote.

I will poste a summary of the responses. Thank you very much.
