Dear Colleague,
I recently posted a query about research evidence as to whether or not
formal grammar teaching can improve writing skills. A number of people
provided helpful leads, and I've now built a bibliography which I've
included in a short review of the evidence. This is available for
downloading from http://www.phon.ucl.ac.uk/home/dick/papers.htm , but I'll
be glad to send an electronic copy (as an attachment), or even paper.
The bibliography now includes some research from outside the
English-speaking world, but not much, so I'd welcome further suggestions.
