I'm writing to ask for some assistance with my research on language policies in Latin American countries.

As an International Studies student, I am required to create a research design on language policy in any two Latin American. countries . This is for a Political Science class, so the focus of the research design is to be on governmental policy related to language education and/or language usage. My question is: Why do the policies in *these* two countries differ as they do? The problem is that I know shameful little about the SLA situation in ANY Latin American country, and nothing about the policies in place. I need some help with finding that information.

If anyone can point me to some resources on Latin American language policies (written in English), I would be most appreciative.

Thank you much for your help,
