We'd like to remind readers that the responses to queries are usually best posted to the individual asking the question. That individual is then strongly encouraged to post a summary to the list. This policy was instituted to help control the huge volume of mail on LINGUIST; so we would appreciate your cooperating with it whenever it seems appropriate.

    Dear Linguists,

My name is Katja Apanassenko and I'm the 1st year aspirant at the Institute of Asian and African Studies by Moscow State University. For about 6 months I am a subscriber of Linguist List. I would like to ask other linguists a bibliography question concerning my dissertation (Time and Space in Hausa, a North Nigerian language). I've already searched through almost every library in Moscow, but I'm sure there must be many other books or/and useful links on that subject (not necessary dealing with African languages only but with Time and Space in general). I would appreciate any suggestion on German, English, French or Russian.

    Thanks for your cooperation

    Best regards

I have read a reference on the list some time ago to a "Year of the Linguistic Human Rights", supposed to be 2001. Can anyone help me with more precise information?

I will of course send the answers received out to the list again.

    many thanks, Jeanine
