Qs: Online Ling Resources, Social Networks

Editor for this issue: Karen Milligan <karenlinguistlist.org>

We'd like to remind readers that the responses to queries are usually best posted to the individual asking the question. That individual is then strongly encouraged to post a summary to the list. This policy was instituted to help control the huge volume of mail on LINGUIST; so we would appreciate your cooperating with it whenever it seems appropriate. In addition to posting a summary, we'd like to remind people that it is usually a good idea to personally thanks those individuals who have taken the trouble to respond to the query.

Subject: Resources galore?

Dear linguists,

In this day and age of electronic publications and resources, I am
looking for (online) resources or bibliographies of linguistic journals,
conference proceedings, review articles and the like, covering also
non-Anglo-American sources. Where can I find such
resources?

Any and all replies are appreciated. Please send them to:

Thanks in advance for your help,

Subject: Social networks and language biographies

Dear list members,

I am a student of linguistics and need some help:
-Are there any books or articles discussing L. Milroy's concept/theory of
social networks?
-I work on Slovak linguistic community in Croatia and would like to employ
the concept of social networks making use of language (auto)biographical
narratives (e.g. Nekvapil, 2001 & in prep.). Does anyone of you work on
something similar or can you suggest some literature?
Thanks.

Marian Sloboda
