    The Linguistics Department at the University of Kansas invites applications for an academic year, non-tenure track visiting Assistant Professor starting August 18, 2002, subject to budgetary approval. A Ph.D. in linguistics or a closely related field is required with a specialization in second language acquisition. An emphasis in a secondary field, such as phonology, is preferred. The successful candidate will have a strong record of research in second language acquisition. The preferred candidate will also teach courses in another area of linguistics, such as phonology or syntax.
