Faculty Appointments
Applications are invited for the post of Associate Professor (tenure
track) in sociolinguistics and discourse analysis in the Department of
English Language and Literature of the National University of
Singapore.
Candidates should have a PhD in Linguistics, a sound record of
publications with an international standing in their chosen field(s),
and a commitment to teaching. They should have expertise in
sociolinguistics and/or discourse analysis, and will be expected to
teach modules in these areas, with a broad perspective on the
implications of these domains for applied linguistics, including
language education and communication through language, both at
undergraduate and graduate levels.
NUS expects the highest standards of teaching and scholarship from its
faculty. In return, it offers excellent terms and conditions. There
is considerable support for research, including grants for research
projects, conference money and a very well funded library. The salary
range in the Associate Professor scale is S$108,000-S$204,000 per
year.
