The Institute for German Linguistics and Literature (Institut für
deutsche Sprache und Literatur), University of Dortmund, Germany,
offers a (full) position at the level of ''wissenschaftlicher
Angestellter'' for a computational linguist or computer scientist with
research experience in one of the following areas:
- corpus linguistics,
- text technology, or
- (adaptive) hypertext / hypermedia.
The applicant is expected to work in the HyTex project, which is
concerned with the conversion of linear documents into documents
publishable in a hypertext environment. The scientific goal of the
project is to explore hypertextualisation strategies based on
text-grammatical annotations. The candidate will have the opportunity
to further his/her own research in one of the areas stated above,
especially with regard to a PhD. Dissertation. A good command of the
German language and good programming skills are required.
The salary depends on age and family status according to the BAT IIa
payscale in the German system. The position is open from October 1st,
2002 and will be for three years.
