We'd like to remind readers that the responses to queries are usually best posted to the individual asking the question. That individual is then strongly encouraged to post a summary to the list. This policy was instituted to help control the huge volume of mail on LINGUIST; so we would appreciate your cooperating with it whenever it seems appropriate.

In addition to posting a summary, we'd like to remind people that it is usually a good idea to personally thank those individuals who have taken the trouble to respond to the query.

Could someone please provide me with title, year, and pagination of an article by Hermann Hirt which appeared in _Indogermanische Forschungen_, vol. 17? I need this to order the item through interlibrary loan.

The article included p. 281. The subject was apparently the Germanic verba pura, specifically (perhaps), the claim that the proto-Germanic form contained -j-.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello,

Looking for names of languages written at one point in varieties of the Greek alphabet (that is, they may contain unusual extra letters or variant letterforms). So far I have: Greek, Coptic, Old Nubian, Arabic (a little Byzantine Christian epigraphy).

    Thank you!
