We'd like to remind readers that the responses to queries are usually best posted to the individual asking the question. That individual is then strongly encouraged to post a summary to the list. This policy was instituted to help control the huge volume of mail on LINGUIST; so we would appreciate your cooperating with it whenever it seems appropriate.

In addition to posting a summary, we'd like to remind people that it is usually a good idea to personally thank those individuals who have taken the trouble to respond to the query.

    Dear Linguists,

Does anyone know about a recent version or, even, a translation to French or Portuguese of the following paper: Aronoff, Mark. Word formation in generative grammar. In: Seyger, Samuel Jay. Linguist Inquiry Monographs. MIT, 1980??

I would appreciate any help. The english version is missing in our university library and, due to the time when it has been published, it is already out of print.

I wrote a while back a response to ASR Accuracy mentioning a proposed direction of research on TTS prosody modelling acoustic parameters based on the tube-acoustic and distinctive feature models.

My new question is this, either for TTS or ASR, what are the current thoughts on acoustic modelling for better prosody modelling? (as opposed to unit selection of recordings and standard front-ends to ASRs).

Does anyone have a suggestion for further reading?
