Faculty Appointments
Applications are invited for the post of Associate Professor or
Assistant Professor (tenure track) in sociolinguistics or discourse
analysis in the Department of English Language and Literature of the
National University of Singapore. Our preference is to appoint at the
rank of Associate Professor.
Candidates should have a PhD in Linguistics, a sound record of
international publications in their field(s), and a commitment to
teaching. They should have expertise in sociolinguistics and/or
discourse analysis, and will be expected to teach modules in these
areas, with a broad perspective on the implications of these domains
for applied linguistics, both at undergraduate and graduate levels.
NUS expects the highest standards of teaching and scholarship from its
faculty. In return, it offers excellent terms and conditions. There
is considerable support for research, including grants for research
projects, conference money and a very well funded library. Salary
will be commensurate with experience and level of appointment.
