    Description:

    The primary task for this position is to enhance and maintain lexical information in our lexicon database in accordance with the overall architecture of the Natural Language Processing system. Actual assignment includes (1) word search for pre-defined linguistic features, (2) addition of new lexical information to the lexicon database, (3) integrity check of new information in the lexicon database, (4) bug fixes in the database. These assignments require (1) high level knowledge of Japanese lexicography, (2) efficient large data management skills such as knowledge of ACCESS database, EXCEL, and (3) some experience in tool use for data manipulation. Native proficiency of Japanese language and a degree in Linguistics, Computer Science, or a closely related discipline are required. Knowledge of corpus-based lexicography is very helpful. Experience in relevant research/commercial R&D projects is a strong plus.
