    24th Annual Meeting Department of Linguistics Aristotle University of Thessaloniki 9-11 May 2003

    Call for abstracts

    Dear Colleague,

    The Department of Linguistics, Faculty of Philosophy, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, is organizing its 24th Annual Meeting on Greek Linguistics, 9-11 May 2003. The Meeting is about Greek Linguistics in general (synchrony, diachrony, phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, pragmatics, sociolinguistics, lexicology, lexicography, computational linguistics etc.).

    We kindly ask you to pay attention to the following concerning the format and procedures of the Meeting:

    1. There will be two alternative ways of presentation: (a) oral paper, (b) poster presentation. (Note: The author of the poster should be present). The combined number of slots for both presentations will be 95.

    2. There will be internal assessment and selection of the abstracts submitted, as well as the final paper for the Proceedings. Both will be reviewed by the Scientific Committee of the Conference, which will operate in parallel to the Organizing Committee. The Scientific Committee is represented by all the members of the Linguistics Department of the University of Thessaloniki. You are asked to submit five (5) copies of your abstract.

    3. Each name can feature only once (whether in oral paper, poster, single or joint presentation). The abstract must not exceed one page, including bibliography. Participation forms and abstracts can only be submitted via surface mail. Deadline: 7 February 2003. Notification of the outcome of your application for participation will be sent to you within a month of the closing date. You are kindly requested not to omit your telephone number, fax and e-mail on the participation form.

    ABSTRACT: The text must comply with the following requirements fonts: Times New Roman 12pt spacing: single margins: 3 cm. title, author's name: double spaced, centred

    REGISTRATION:

    The standard registration fee is 50 Euro. Students (graduate and postgraduate) 25 Euro. The fee includes both attendance the conference and receipt of the forthcoming Proceedings. The fee is paid on registration.
