    Description:

    The Provost's Academic Diversity Postdoctoral Program seeks to increase the number of scholars underrepresented in American higher education by providing a two-year research, teaching, and mentoring experience. The program is directed to promising scholars from ethnic and racial groups that have been historically underrepresented in higher education (African American, American Indian, and Hispanic/Latino) and who will contribute to academic diversity and excellence at Cornell University. Fellows will devote their time to research and will teach one course a year.

    Award: There will be three awards each for a two-year term appointment of eleven months each year. We welcome applications from all disciplines, with the stipend dependent on the discipline and experience. Stipends will include health insurance and $2,000 for relocation/research expenses. Applicants must complete all requirements for the doctoral degree by August, 2003 and should have received the degree within the past five years. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents.

    Application: Applicants must submit a brief application letter (including e-mail address) in which the applicant clearly identifies the area or discipline of proposed research, a curriculum vitae, statement of proposed research not to exceed five pages, and three letters of recommendation. Recommendations should be sent by referees under separate cover, one who must be the dissertation advisor.
