Qs: Persian Data, Implicit Objects/Eng/Arabic
Editor for this issue: Karen Milligan <karenlinguistlist.org>
We'd like to remind readers that the responses to queries are usually
best posted to the individual asking the question. That individual is
then strongly encouraged to post a summary to the list. This policy was
instituted to help control the huge volume of mail on LINGUIST; so we
would appreciate your cooperating with it whenever it seems appropriate.
In addition to posting a summary, we'd like to remind people that it
is usually a good idea to personally thank those individuals who have
taken the trouble to respond to the query.

Subject: Looking for Persian frequency data or text corpora
For a cross-linguistic (German/English/Persian) study investigating
semantic and conceptual features of lexical items in language
comprehension we are looking for frequency data for Persian words, or
electronically available corpora of Persian texts. I would be grateful
for any pointers to this kind of information. Please reply to me
individually, and I will post a summary of responses.

Dear Linguist,
I am writing a paper on the implicit objects in English and
Arabic. Could you please suggest any recent works on this topic. I am
familiar with B. Levin's treatment of this topic in her English Verb
Classes.. (1993). I do appreciate any other suggestions especially
concerning Arabic.
