Senior English Language Fellow
Background
The primary institution will be the Far Eastern State University and
its branches. The assignment of a senior ELF to this university and
Ministry of Education training center would assist in the professional
training of hundreds of teachers in the Far East region including
remote areas who have limited access to accurate and up-to-date
information about American life and institutions.
Responsibilities:
The Senior English Language Fellow will:
- Work in close coordination with the U.S. Consulate General in
Vladivostok to support public affairs programming, specifically
related to education and English teaching.
- Work on projects in, Materials Development, Young Learners, and
English for Specific Purposes.
- Support the American Centers and Corners in the region, as well as
be a link between the Post and the Russian educational community.
Senior Fellow Requirements:
- MA in TEFL/TESL or closely related field
- Substantial teacher development experience
- Background in curriculum/materials development and/or English for
Specific Purposes (ESP).
- Senior Fellows conduct special projects in teacher training,
methodology, curriculum development, and needs analysis at
universities, teacher training institutions, ministries of
education, binational centers, and related language education
institutions.
