Dear Subscribers,

If you aren't familiar yet with our Teaching & Learning Area, please
take a moment to look at it. You can browse these pages at
http://linguistlist.org/teach/index.html.

It truly has something of interest for everyone. If you are a student
of linguistics, and are looking to do graduate work in a very specific
area, like a program with an emphasis on both historical linguistics
and Algonquian languages for example, our search page will bring up
matching programs world-wide in seconds. And if you are the chair or
director of a program, and would like to get your name out to more
students, adding your program to Linguist List is the prefect way to
accomplish it! Our programs are also linked to dissertation abstracts,
so more programs get added every day. To explore these great features,
please visit http://linguistlist.org/teach/programs/index.html.

Another nice feature is our pages on linguistics courses & syllabi and
linguistics exercises & aids. They can be found at
http://linguistlist.org/sp/LingCourse.html and
http://linguistlist.org/sp/Exercises.html respectively. If you are
preparing a new course, or just looking for some new ideas for a
course you regularly teach, these pages can prove to be a helpful
resource.

These are just a few of the features of the Teaching & Learning Area.
We also have pages devoted to ESL & EFL, language learning software,
and learning languages other than English, with hundreds of links! If
you have used this area before, or feel that it is a valuable resource
for the linguistic community, please consider donating so that we can
continue to provide this service.

Thank you for your support!

Sincerely,

Marie Klopfenstein

Message 2: How to Donate...

Date: 16 Mar 2004 08:56:08 -0000
From: linguist <linguistlinguistlist.org>
Subject: How to Donate...

This Year the LINGUIST List hope to raise $60,000. This money will go
to help keep the List running, by supporting all of our Student
Editors for the coming year.

There are many ways to donate to LINGUIST!

You can donate right now using our secure credit card form, at:
http://www.linguistlist.org/donate.html

You can also pledge right now and pay later, at:
http://www.linguistlist.org/pledge.html

For all information on donating, including information on how to
donate by check, money order, or wire transfer, please visit:
http://www.linguistlist.org/donation.html

ALREADY PLEDGED?
If you have already pledged to LINGUIST and would now like to pay
by credit card, please go to:

http://linguistlist.org/creditcard-general.html

and select 'PAY PREVIOUS PLEDGE' as the Type of Payment from the
dropdown list provided.

The LINGUIST List is under the umbrella of Eastern Michigan University
and as such can receive donations through the EMU Foundation, which is
a registered 501(c) Non Profit organization. Our Federal Tax number is
38-6005986. These donations can be offset against your federal and
sometimes your state tax return (U.S. tax payers only). For more
information visit the IRS Web-Site, or contact your financial advisor.

Many companies also offer a gift matching program, such that they will
match any gift you make to a non-profit organization. Normally this
entails your contacting your human resources department and sending us
a form that the EMU Foundation fills in and returns to your employer.
This is generally a simple administrative procedure that doubles the
value of your gift to LINGUIST, without costing you an extra penny.
Please take a moment to check if your company operates such a program.

Thank you very much for your support of LINGUIST!
