Qs: Linguistics Journal Rankings

Editor for this issue: Ann Sawyer <sawyerlinguistlist.org>

We'd like to remind readers that the responses to queries are usually best posted to the individual asking the question. That individual is then strongly encouraged to post a summary to the list. This policy was instituted to help control the huge volume of mail on LINGUIST; so we would appreciate your cooperating with it whenever it seems appropriate.

In addition to posting a summary, we'd like to remind people that it is usually a good idea to personally thank those individuals who have taken the trouble to respond to the query.

To post to LINGUIST, use our convenient web form at http://linguistlist.org/LL/posttolinguist.html.

Subject: Query: impact factors in linguistics

I have recently come across an impact factor rate. So far I had no news of rankings or impact factors for reviews of journals in linguistics, could anyone give me some references or addresses (URL) to find them?

I was thinking of something like the rankings you can find in ISI web of knowledge, which orders the journals of a subject or a field according to their impact factor.

I have been directed to a place where I can search the impact factor of a journal, but not to a ranking by subject, either "linguistics" or any subfield, such as "syntax" or "psycholinguistics" etc.

    Thanks. Sincerely, Irene.
