    Description:

    The Department of Linguistics at the University of Pennsylvania invites applications for a tenure-track position in Phonetics at the rank of Assistant Professor. The position will begin on July 1, 2005 (or soon thereafter, by mutual agreement). The successful candidate should have the Ph.D. completed before taking the position.

    Applicants should present a proven record of research and evidence of excellence in teaching. Duties will include directing the phonetics laboratory. The department particularly encourages applications from scholars who can contribute to Penn's tradition of cooperation across subdisciplines within linguistics and can participate actively in interdisciplinary research in cognitive science.

    Applications must include a curriculum vitae, a statement of research and teaching interests, and representative publications. Applicants should ask three referees to send letters of reference directly to the search committee. Mail all materials in hard copy to the address below.:
