 Description:
 
 Mellon Postdoctoral Fellowship: To apply, complete the form found at 
 http://www.arts.cornell.edu/sochum/html/melloninfo.html
 and specify linguistics as the discipline.  The following materials should be
 postmarked on or before October 21, 2004: 1) a curriculum vitae; 2) a detailed
 statement of current research interests (1000-3000 words) that clearly outlines
 the research you will undertake during the term of the fellowship; 3) copies of
 one or two papers or scholarly publications (no more than twenty pages of a
 thesis); 4) a two- to four-page statement of teaching interests and two course
 proposals (subject area, brief syllabus, proposed methods); and 5) three letters
 of recommendation.
 
 Eligibility: You must have received the Ph.D. degree after September 1999 or
 plan to receive it by June 30, 2005 (confirmation letter required). Fellowships
 are limited to citizens of the United States, Canada, or those with permanent
 U.S. residency cards.
 
 All application materials (including letters of recommendation) must be
 postmarked on or before October 21, 2004.  Faxed applications will not be
 accepted.  Only fully completed formal applications will be considered.
