Meeting Description:
The 3rd Conference on Experimental Phonetics (CEP), organised by the
Faculty of Philology of the University of Santiago de Compostela, will be
held on the 25th, 26th and 27th of October, 2005.
The III CEP aims to gather research on phonetics and related sciences,
following the line already initiated by the two previous conferences held
in Tarragona and Sevilla. Likewise, it pursues the target of being a
periodical meeting, as expressed in the two preceding editions.
If you want to contribute you should send an abstract (a maximum of 1,500
characters in RTF format), before the 15th of January, 2005 to the e-mail
of the Conference Secretary (sec3cfe
usc.es) or to the following postal
address:

The abstract - in Galician, Spanish or English - should only include the
title of the paper. The following details must be provided in an independent
sheet of paper:
- Title of the paper
- Name of the author(s)
- Institution
- Subject (All those contributions dealing with the subjects proposed or
with any other subject related to Experimental Phonetics will be accepted).
- E-mail, postal address and telephone number
The acceptance of the proposals will be known by the 1st of March, 2005.
The whole and definitive version should be handed in just after being
presented, so that it can be included in the Conference Proceedings.
Presentations will not last more than 20 minutes plus 10 minutes discussion.

Meeting Description:
The International Society for Gesture Studies (ISGS) was founded in June
2002 in Austin, Texas on the occasion of the 1st Conference on Gesture -
The Living Medium.
The second ISGS conference, Interacting Bodies, will take place in Lyon,
France in June 2005. Its primary aim is to enlarge and to strengthen the
international network of scholars working in fields related to gesture
studies, research on multimodality in social interaction and video analysis.
This second conference shall bring together researchers from various
disciplinary and cultural backgrounds and offer an international forum on
topics broadly covering the different aspects of gestures and their
structuring effects on language, cognition, and human interaction.
The program will consist of
- plenary lectures of invited keynote speakers
- panels of individual papers (20 min. presentation + 10 min. discussion
for each paper)
- parallel thematic panels (time-slots of 1h30)
- project presentations (time-slots of 1h30)
- data sessions (time-slots of 1h30)
- poster-sessions
