Call for Papers: KFLC Linguistics Sessions
The 58th annual Kentucky Foreign Language Conference will be held at the
University of Kentucky, Lexington, KY, April 21-23, 2005. The conference
will include sessions devoted to theoretical linguistics, sociolinguistics,
and applied linguistics.
Papers will be 20 minutes in length, followed by a 10-minute discussion
period. Abstracts of no more than one page in length should be sent by
November 15th either to Tom Clayton (Applied Linguistics) at:
tmclay
uky.edu; or to Anna Bosch (Theoretical Linguistics) at: bosch
uky.edu
Please include name, address, affiliation, and email contact information.
As always, graduate students are encouraged to submit abstracts.

Meeting Description:
On behalf of the Organising Committee we are writing to announce The 3rd
International interdisciplinary conference on Communication, Medicine and
Ethics (COMET) and the 7th annual seminar of the Centre for Values, Ethics
and Law in Medicine (VELIM) to be held in Sydney, Australia between 30 June
and 2 July 2005.
The Conference is jointly hosted by the Centre for Language in Social Life,
Department of Linguistics, Macquarie University, Sydney and the Centre for
Values, Ethics and Law in Medicine of the University of Sydney.
The Conference will bring together researchers, practitioners and
administrators from different disciplines concerned with issues of
communication and ethics in the fields of healthcare and the human and
social sciences.
Proposals are invited for papers, posters and colloquia addressing a wide
range of health issues at the intersections between:
* Communication
* Ethics
* Healthcare
We invite abstracts and proposals of no more than 250 words to be submitted
online by 31 December 2004. We expect to provide notification of acceptance
or otherwise by 1 February 2005. Full details, including registration
